YouTube Shopping affiliate program
YouTube's program for tagging other brands' products in videos and Shorts and earning a commission when fans buy on the retailer's site.
Requirements as stated on the source
- Your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program.
- Your channel meets the subscriber threshold for YPP (YouTube's Creators page says at least 500 subscribers in an available market).
- You are based in Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States or Vietnam.
- Your channel is not a music channel, an Official Artist Channel, or associated with music partners (labels, distributors, publishers or VEVO).
- Your channel audience is not set as Made for Kids, and your channel does not have a significant number of videos set as made for kids.
Process
Once qualified, sign in to YouTube Studio, choose Earn, click Join Now under Programs, accept the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program Terms, then tag products in your content following the tagging guidelines.
Notes and caveats
- The help page says eligibility criteria might be different for pilot programs.
- YouTube's blog post dated March 25, 2026 says the program was expanded to creators in the YouTube Partner Program with at least 500 subscribers who meet the eligibility guidelines.
- The help page says it is against its terms to route traffic from non-YouTube sources to merchants using your YouTube affiliate links, and that sharing affiliate links outside YouTube may lead to suspension of affiliate features.
- Our two YouTube Partner Program entries show different subscriber numbers (see the changes log). This entry follows YouTube's Creators page and blog post for the 500 figure; the help page only says 'the subscriber threshold for YPP'.
- The checker below models only subscribers; the other conditions are not modeled.
